Stat. 117.189, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.house.leg.state.mn.us\/bills\/billnum.asp?Billnumber=hf1182&amp;ls_year=86&amp;session_year=2009&amp;session_number=0&amp;Go.x=29&amp;Go.y=10&amp;Go=Search\">HF1182<\/a> is just the bill to do it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Land rights&#8221; is a fundamental constitutional issue.  For a person&#8217;s land to be taken, there must be due process and just compensation.  Minn. For<br \/>\npurposes of an award of appraisal fees under section <a href=\"https:\/\/www.revisor.mn.gov\/statutes?id=117.085#stat.117.085\">117.085<\/a>,<br \/>\nthe fees awarded may not exceed $1,500 for all types of property except for a<br \/>\npublic service corporation&#8217;s use of eminent domain for a high-voltage<br \/>\ntransmission line, where the award may not exceed $3,000. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s the problem?<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>* Thousands of landowners across Minnesota are facing condemnation<br \/>\nin the coming years for CapX 2020 and other transmission projects<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>* Minn. Stat. 117.189 limits compensation to landowners for<br \/>\nappriasals, attorneys fees, payments for going concerns, things<br \/>\nthat give utilities an unfair advantage.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>* Repeal Minn. Stat. 117.189 to make utilitiy condemnation more fair (it&#8217;s<br \/>\nnever really fair!)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>What to do?<\/strong> <strong>REPEAL Minn.
