Xmsn – Brooking –> Lyon Co. & Helena –> Hampton
Well, that sure was a bust. There were a few folks off to the left, way in back, but NO ONE ELSE SAID ANYTHING! What’s with people? Why show up to sit like a bump on a log?
Here’s the presentation, not much here:
And the Environmental Report/Assessment (which is only in Certificate of Need docket!?!):
An interesting comment made by Xcel, the guy in the middle on the right. He said the area is congested, and then:
This 2nd line will relieve that congestion.
OK… but look what’s lined up at the PUC, SO FAR, and there WILL be more
- THIS PROJECT – Brookings to Lyon Co. & Helena to Hampton, CN-23-200 & TL-08-1474
- Big Stone to Alexandria to Big Oaks, LRPT2, CN-22-538 and TL-23-159 (routing using existing easements open, but new greenfield route not applied for yet).
- Wilmarth to North Rochester to Tremval, WI, LRPT 4, CN-22-532 (on hold, maybe 1st Q 2024) Requires reroute of Dairyland 161kV CN-23-504
- Lyon Co. to Sherco – CN-22-131 and TL-22-132 – Xcel’s Radial Line to preserve “valuable interconnection rights.”
This one his beyond likely to be permitted, but the issue is, with all this transission, and Xcel saying this 2nd circut on this line “will relieve that conestion,” what to we need all those other projects for?
Hmmmmmm…
